Confirmation, Reconciliation and First Eucharist

Confirmation

Confirmation is the second of the Sacraments in which the gifts of the Holy Spirit are received in a special way to strengthen us in our spiritual journey.

Children are eligible to receive this Sacrament in the Parish if they have been baptised into the Catholic Church and are in Year 3 or above.

Reconciliation

All Catholics are encouraged to frequently receive the Sacrament of Penance, more commonly known as Reconciliation or Confession. Indeed, Church law requires this Sacrament to be received at least once a year between Ash Wednesday and Trinity Sunday.

Eucharist (First Holy Communion)

This is the third and final Sacrament of initiation of the Catholic faith. It is a time when the child receives the Eucharist for the first time. Children are prepared for this Sacrament in Year 4 or above through the Parish and the schools.

A program of preparation for these Sacraments of Initiation is organised through the Parish and the Parish schools. For children who attend any of the local State schools, please contact the Parish Office for further information.
